Monarch
Hard White
Released in 2018, Monarch is an open market hard white variety with excellent straw strength and excellent irrigated yield potential. Monarch has very good stripe rust resistance and quality similar to Breck, but with very low polyphenol oxidase (PPO), a property desired by end users that reduces browning of baked goods, a benefit in whole grain applications. Manage for high yield with adequate fertility. PVP Protected, Certified Seed Only, Sunset June 30, 2023 (Savable Harvest 2023).
