Sheridan

Hard Red
Released in 2024, Sheridan provides unique characteristics as a hard red winter wheat to improve resilience at planting and throughout the season. Sheridan is drought tolerant and has a longer coleoptile, optimizing performance at deeper planting depths to ensure sprout and emergence in dry fall conditions. This variety has demonstrated encouraging improvements with stripe rust resistance, given an industry rating of Very Good. Knowing stressful conditions can derail quality, Sheridan has a stronger protein deviation, meaning it assimilates Nitrogen and Sulfur from soil and leaves into grain more effectively, improving consistency of grain protein. Sheridan is currently being testing broadly to better understand its area of adaptation in the central and northern plains. PVP Protected; to be sold by variety name only as a class of Certified Seed.
