Jim Quick

Hard Red
Released in 2026, Jim Quick is a hollow stem, medium height variety with good straw strength and leading yield performance across 3 years in Colorado, with excellent performance in Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. We see this as a great advancement, maintain top yield in rainfed and irrigated scenarios when Mosaic, heat, and drought plague production. Jim Quick has cmc4 and native tolerance to Triticum Mosaic Virus, stem rust resistance, and moderate resistance to stripe rust. Grain quality is exceptional with above average test weight, good protein, excellent milling and desirable baking characteristics. It is named after Dr. Jim Quick, who was the third Wheat Breeder of the CSU Wheat Breeding and Genetics Program. PVP Protected; to be sold by variety name only as a class of certified seed.
